Stock Valve adjustment on 5.9 Cummins

Turn engine to TDC # 1 Cylinder
Both valves will be loose on #1 cylinder and both valves will be tight on #6 cylinder.
Starting at the front of the engine the valve order is Intake then Exhaust.

Adjust:

Cylinder     Valve(s)

      1            Intake Exhaust

      2            Intake

      3            Exhaust

      4            Intake

      5            Exhaust

      6            None

Turn engine to TDC # 6 Cylinder.
Both valves will be loose on #6 cylinder and both valves will be tight on #1 cylinder.

Adjust:

Cylinder     Valve(s)

      1           None

      2           Exhaust

      3           Intake

      4           Exhaust

      5           Intake

      6           Intake Exhaust
